Business Development Manager – International B2B Publishing, £25k plus genuine £35k commission OTE, London
This company provides specialist information through reports and consultancy, and also runs a number of very successful events around the world. Its directors are regarded as internationally renowned industry experts and thus their products and services are very highly regarded. The company is growing fast and has clients all over the world.
The role of Business Development Manager
This role involves a combination of account management and business development, maximising revenue on reports and selling sponsorship packages on their specialist websites. You will work across a number of industries selling to senior decision makers, primarily on the telephone but with visits in person where necessary. You will also be required to visit their conferences, many of which are in the emerging BRIC countries. Key elements of the role include:
- Proactively contacting sales leads provided by marketing campaigns, as well as sourcing your own leads to build your revenue
- Developing relationships with customers through a consultative sales approach
- Gain feedback from customers and prospects regarding pricing, needs, product issues, and competitor activity.
To thrive in this role you must have a proven track record in telephone-based sales, ideally internationally, and some experience of selling face-to-face. Crucially, you will be confident about the whole sales process, fearless when picking up the phone to new prospects but also have the finesse to develop excellent rapport. You will also be:
- Hardworking and positive
- Able to shine in a sales team of only seven people
- A team player
- A graduate
