The Role
The team is made up of an Associate Director, Account Manager (the vacancy), supported by two Senior Executives and two Executives. They will work primarily on one major electronics/tech account with contribution to one or two smaller assignments.
This team will work in conjunction with the communications planning team, comprising of six planners and a Business Director, who heads up specific client accounts.
This is supported by a Head of Digital and a Digital Director along with specialists across the group, in the form of social, analytics, research, performance and search.
The main account is an international account for the agency although your role would be UK focused. The client has seen huge growth in digital investment, and has one of the highest digital share of spend of all agency clients, so the opportunity to do high impact work is evident.
There is still a lot of potential to unlock on this client, as they move toward a more digitally-centric approach to planning. They are always keen to try new innovative ideas and put the budget behind them to test. The client are consistently first to market on a whole range of digital innovations.
Key Responsibilities
Implementational Planning : responsible for team's knowledge of & expertise in planning tools (TGI.net, etc.), encouraging innovative media behaviour, liaise with Creative Agency to ensure creative solutions make best use of media, and develop market leading and 'best practice' approach
Implementational buying : Negotiation - responsibility for the team's advancements in quality negotiation of market leading prices, ensuring relevant quality metrics
Trafficking - responsible for team & process, application of learnings, development of more variables and use of data
Delivery - full responsibility for all teams delivering on- strategy and in line with agreed requirements
Client Servicing: Standard of work - responsibility for standard of the team's client-facing work, and delivery vs. expectations
Scoping out and implementing new areas for work to be improved, and developing agency’s role into new areas
Full contact with all clients: be seen as the authority on their business
Growth of new agency revenue streams
Business understanding: Develop regular thought leadership / POV on relevant media / market sector
People management: Responsible for team development, training & motivation. This includes personal and professional development, via feedback, appraisals, etc
Skills Required
The agencyare looking for a strong leader of people with demonstrable experience in digital, specifically focused on activation planning and buying. They will also be passionate about developing the link between communications planning and digital implementation and how to understand and translate a strategic idea. This will be both in terms of applying industry knowledge (and sharing this with the team) to create great media plans and providing management and leadership for those you are responsible for. You will be confident with clients and clear in delivering our agency point of view and recommendation
