Twentieth Century Fox currently seek a Category Activation Manager to lead and drive the Home Entertainment category and shopper insight agenda in order to deliver actionable solutions for Retailers across both digital & physical formats. This is to be maximized by working with the wider Retail Marketing and Sales team in order to turn genuine insight into action, both in-store and on-line.


  • Lead shopper and retail insight agenda for sales team with a clear focus on influencing retailer decisions
  • Work closely with Category Controller and Category Insight Manager to ensure key objectives are delivered
  • Build relationships with key retailers and their associated loyalty/data partners to deliver shopper led strategies
  • Ensure that learnings can be applied and activiated in retail, both in-store and on-line
  • Identify business knowledge gaps which must be filled in order to achieve business objectives
  • Help to manage external data/research agencies and drive relationship with key partners (i.e. Kantar/ IGD/Dunnhumby etc.)
  • Ensure Fox are leading the market in demands for improved service level and with highest expectations Drive sales agenda through supporting category and insight led presentations to achieve key business objectives, i.e. Blu-ray, 3D, Digital EST, Catalogue, Box Office conversion
  • Take lead role in shaping insights story for all retailer facing sales presentations (Quarterly New Release, Seasonal Events, Catalogue Campaigns)
  • Implement a category strategy (with Category Controller) to support the total businesses goals and objectives
  • Run a program of internal learning sharing forums for the business on relevant topics  (with Category Insight Manager) Work with, and support, CIM to support Marketing Team on key projects aligned to business priorities

Working with Retailers:

  • Use Insight to drive ‘Physical to Digital’ with key retail partners and demonstrate Fox as market leaders in new format knowledge (Ultra Violet)
  • Build key relationships with Retailers across Insight, Trading and Marketing departments
  • Create and present compelling insights and recommendations to the trade
  • Ensure presentations are followed up and actions executed Conduct retailer category reviews (with CIM) to highlight and identify key insights and recommendations for immediate action

Leading shopper research:

  • Identify key opportunities where shopper research can aid our sell in to trade
  • Build business rationale for any research investment
  • Select agencies through pitching progress, ensuring most effective use of budget
  • Work with Retail Marketing to ensure we can build joined up retail focused outputs from any learning’s
  • Highlight key insights and work with Sales to create an action plan to deliver commercial benefit
  • Review implementation and success 



  • Excellent knowledge of Kantar, IRI, IGD and other key market and shopper data sources
  • Solid commercial experience (e.g. sales, marketing, customer activation, category manager role) in FMCG or Home Entertainment, having worked either for a supplier or a retailer
  • Experience of working with key Grocery and on-line retailers
  • Experience of actively using insight to drive change
  • Managed ad-hoc shopper research projects
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good communicator (internally & externally)
