Advertising Operations Executive – The Week

London (Central), London (Greater) £22-26,000 per annum plus benefits

The Role:

You will be responsible for all ad serving, trafficking and campaign management of The Week website advertising through all West End agencies and direct clients. The role includes the production cycle of managing all booked ad campaigns, implementing orders within our current ad server DFP and trafficking all ads.

You will also be responsible for checking and optimising all campaigns through to successful delivery. In conjunction with the digital sales team, you will ensure that all campaigns are implemented correctly, delivered on target and on time and that every campaign is optimised throughout.

We also encourage each member of the team to champion an ad ops projects/area, which allows each trafficker to take on the responsibility and knowledge of a dedicated area such as Video or Behavioural Targeting and to be the ‘go to’ person in this specific area. This also allows you the opportunity to work closely with the relevant vendors.

Your role will also require you to have regular contact with our internal design, technology, SEO and editorial teams.  The trend for more integrated, bespoke campaigns mean that good communication and involvement with these departments is essential to the success of these campaigns.

You will report directly to the Digital Advertising Manager and indirectly to the Head of Ad Operations

Responsibilities:

Sales Support

To work closely with The Week digital sales team to ensure all campaigns are managed closely. Key accounts, bespoke projects/builds, inventory, traffic and delivery enquires will be your responsibility.

 

Site Management

To manage and be responsible for www.theweek.co.uk to include the following:

 

  • Newsletters/Emails

To manage and be responsible for The Week’s Daily Newsletters, Third Party, Subscription and Own Offer e-mails

 

  • House Ads

To manage and be responsible for trafficking all of The Week’s promotional/Subscription house ads supplied by other internal departments.

 

Key Competencies:

Adserving/Campaign management

To understand and meet deadlines for inputting creative.

 

Consistently show accuracy in ad serving all campaigns.

 

Forecast ad availability and take necessary actions to ensure campaigns do not under-deliver.

 

Pro-actively update others of changing situations relating to adserving.

 

Pro-actively identify opportunities and problems and actively source solutions for campaigns/Site reporting/issues/client queries etc.

 

 

 

Trafficking administration To ensure you update Salesforce our order booking system and add notes where necessary.

 

To ensure that all signed orders are received from the client for ALL bookings and that nothing goes live without a signed order confirmation.

 

To work with Dennis trafficking team to complete the bookings book at the end of each Month.

 

Reporting Working closely with all agencies to deliver concise and specific campaign results summary directly tailored to agency/clients needs.

 

To collate and provide the sales team with available inventory at the beginning and toward the end of the month.

 

Communication

 

 

To correspond with clients/agencies via phone and email pre campaign launch for creative tags and testing as well as the design and build of bespoke ads/integrations where necessary

 

To correspond with clients/agencies via phone and email, with regard to the success of their campaigns/creative

 

Develop and tailor oral communication skills to differing situations.

 

To be able to report to your line manager on business at any given moment.

 

Industry

Demonstrate through external reading and industry events, the awareness of and developments within the trafficking environment.

Experience Required: Good technical/Analytical skills are required

 

Knowledge of HTML and basic programming skills

 

Knowledge and competency of DART or other ad serving solutions would be a plus.

 

Ability to work under pressure.

 

Knowledge and competency of design tools is not essential but would be beneficial.

 

Ability to correspond via email professionally with agencies and clients

 

Competent phone skills with experience of liasing with agencies and clients.

 

An understanding of the media industry and online advertising environment.
