Senior Business Development Manager - London

Position title: Senior Business Development Manager
Location: London

As a Senior Business Development Manager for Travel you will be responsible for the commercial development of the company’s new business in the UK Travel sector. It is essential that you understand the key business challenges in your target regions & sectors and how our solutions and services meet those challenges. As a Senior Business Development Manager you will stay fully abreast of all current and future product developments and adhere to best practices in prospecting, selling and account management.

Responsibilities:

Sales Process:

  • Generating business opportunities through professional, dedicated prospecting and cold-calling in addition to the efforts of the Inside Sales team 
  • Developing a sales plan, create and maintain a monthly sales forecast
  • Owning the sales cycle - from lead generation to closure
  • Manage entire sales process, including handling demos
  • Developing and maintaining senior-level relationships within target accounts
  • Reviewing market to determine customer needs and reporting back changing market conditions to management
  • Uncovering green field territories and make them your own by becoming a subject matter expert
  • Following best practices in sales processes/procedures
  • Complete full handover to Client Services or Partner team of all new business won.
  • Meeting and exceeding all quarterly and annual sales quotas

Marketing:

  • Working with Partners to identify sales opportunities
  • Working with Partners to build joint propositions 
  • Hosting any regional marketing events
  • Being the voice and face of the company in the UK Travel Market

Expertise & Knowledge:

  • Liaise internally to build product and technology knowledge to a level that facilitates expert discussion at C-Level
  • Building up sector knowledge and expertise to understand and solve business challenges with the company’s solutions and services

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years full sales experience
  • Successful sales track record in meeting or exceeding assigned individual quota in excess of £1M per annum through software and services solutions
  • Strong skills and experience in working with Partners (Agency and Technology Partners) to drive new business pipeline and won deals
  • Relevant consultative and strategic selling in SaaS, ASP, eBusiness or CRM software
  • A proven sales hunter and closer with a track record in software &/or services sales at the executive level
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills including strong presentation/demo skills both in person and via phone/web presentation
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast pace, rapid change environment
  • Experience of working in both start-ups and large corporates would be a bonus
  • Intelligence with strong appreciation of technology
  • UK Travel & Hospitality e-commerce market  (extending into specific European territories)
  • Fluency in English, other European languages would be beneficial
