The Role:
The Commercial Department is responsible for driving revenue through highly targeted and well executed brand extensions across all communication channels. They work closely with their brands to engage the consumer and deliver relevant products and services which incentivise loyalty and add value for the customer.
They operate a dynamic and customer focused business and are looking for a talented Commercial Manager to further develop our portfolio of products within the maturity sector.
The ideal candidate will have the vision, skills and tenacity to identify and deliver profitable new brand extensions. He or she will already have proven commercial ability and a track record of delivering cross platform marketing campaigns.

Key responsibilities:
To produce the commercial strategy & annual budgets for the maturity business
To ensure that the monthly revenue and profit targets are met across all categories
To identify and execute new revenue driving initiatives across the core business areas: Mail Order, Financial Services, Travel, Events and Yearbooks
To present / pitch new revenue generating ideas to 3rd parties and negotiate underwrites and commissions with them for maximum profit
To thoroughly explore and research potential NPD opportunities focussing on the maturity market
To maximise use of the customer database and plan and execute targeted direct mail campaigns
To oversee the management and marketing activity for an exclusive annual reader event
To manage and be a mentor to a small team

kills /Experience
Be highly analytical, with strong excel skills and proven experience in commercial budgeting and forecasting
Have proven commercial or direct marketing experience
Be a strong and highly organised project manager who is able to develop clear strategies and deliver projects on time and on target
Have strong sales and negotiation skills
Be proactive, creative and analytical with strong commercial instincts and excellent communication skills
Be a strong team player with the ability to develop excellent relationships with internal and third party contacts
Event management experience is preferable although not essential
