Advertising Sales Executive

We need an ambitious advertising sales person to manage half of the client base on an established and successful trade magazine, starting as soon as possible.
The role is mainly telephone-based, but for energetic candidates there is huge potential to get out of the office - a large number of our clients are based just a few minutes’ walk from our premises. The role will require you to meet them for coffee, talk about our plans, and build friendly, positive commercial relationships. You’ll also need to attend some of the major trade shows throughout the year, which are a great time for networking with your contacts.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience of working on b2b titles, have a concrete understanding of what types of businesses want to advertise to a trade readership, and be able to juggle the existing client portfolio with a continuous search for new business.
We’re looking for someone is capable of high call rates and an aggressive approach to landing deals. In return you can be sure of fast career progression.
We know our markets inside out and enjoy friendly, first-name-terms relationships with the hundreds of clients that we deal with every month. Each magazine (Jewellery Focus, Pet Gazette, Hotel Owner and Funeral Service Times) enjoys a market-leading position in terms of circulation and in levels of advertising support too. Therefore we need strong sales people who can translate that market position into advertising revenue.
We’re working hard on bringing modernised websites to market so that we can offer increasingly creative print/digital packages to our clients. You will be instrumental in how these packages are designed.

We are an ambitious company with a proven track record of launching successful brands, and we have plans to launch more print magazines and news websites. Our London office opened last summer and the team is growing - talent is recognised and rewarded very quickly so the most able applicants should expect early advancement, and the opportunity to play a key part in the growth and future success of the company.
Basic salary is negotiable, but we offer a total package (including a generous bonus scheme) in excess of £40k.
