The company

With fantastic offices in central London our client are a leading National Newspaper group, with a hugely respected reputation, and a portfolio of print, online and events products that are all sector leaders. They are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Sales Executive to join their Display Sales team.

The role

  • The ability to generate new business and develop existing accounts
  • To respond and follow up sales enquiries by telephone, email and client visits
  • Responsible for developing relationships with direct clients and agencies across the portfolio
  • Utilising effective relationships to deliver advertising revenue against targets
  • Targeting relevant clients for specials/sponsorships within the portfolio
  • Increasing revenue across the growing portfolio
  • To actively research, develop and record all sales leads whilst also keeping aware of competitor activity
  • Creating cross-portfolio marketing solutions
  • To provide accurate forecasts in respect of revenue achievement
  • To develop and maintain long-term client relationships, with large clients and media agencies
  • To keep up to date with the product range and services
  • Maintain a tenacious approach to target achievement whilst remaining tactful and sensitive to client needs and expectations

The person

  • Proven, relevant experience within a major media organisation whether B2B or national press, working across both print and online
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential to secure solid campaign rates in line with rate and yield guidelines
  • A strong team player with a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales revenues
  • The ability to devise creative cross-portfolio marketing solutions
  • Excellent presentation skills with a consultative sales approach
  • Industry knowledge is desirable though not necessary
